Monthly Tip
Cleaning out the lint build up inside your
dryer is very important.  The accumulation
of lint can catch fire and spread to your
home. The lint will also act as insulation
on your motor and cause premature
failure.  All dryers and there vents should
be cleaned at least once a year. Doing
this will keep your family safe and your
dryer operating.
Please remember that working on appliances can be dangerous.  Appliances have many
mechanical and electrical parts that can cause serious injury and death.  If you aren't familiar
with these types of applications then please call a qualified appliance technician. Lane
Appliance LLC and this site accept no responsibility for injuries to person or damage to
appliances.
If your dryer will not heat, not even a little, then it could be a bad flame
sensor.

To check the flame sensor you will need an ohm meter.

Start by removing the access panel.  This can be accomplished by inserting
a screwdriver at the bottom of the access panel and pushing down and
away from you.  The panel will hinge toward you.  Now with the panel
horizontal to the dryer, push up on the bottom an remove the panel.

Start the dryer.  Make sure the temperature selector or timer are not on air
dry.

Look at the igniter after starting the dryer and see if the flame lights.  This
should only take about 15-30 seconds.  If you don't see the igniter come on
at all then unplug the dryer and check resistance across the terminals of the
sensor.

If the sensor reads no resistance then it is good.  If it reads infinite
resistance then it is bad.

To replace the sensor start by removing the two screws securing the front
dryer panel.  Remove the front panel and set aside. Disconnect the
terminals from the sensor.

Remove the screw securing the sensor to the burner assembly.  After screw
is removed, hinge the sensor down and back.  Remove sensor and install
new one.

Other possible causes could be a bad igniter or open thermal fuse.
